本作的故事发生在一座被称为“海克萨维尔”的架空都市之中，在这座都市建筑林立，经过常年的发展，城市的各个区域特点分明，但同时和所有城市一样，在城市的一角有着一大片密集的贫民聚集地。于此同时，近年来经常发生“重力飓风”，将城市推向了毁灭的边缘。本作的最大卖点就是操纵重力，玩家可以随意改变重力的方向，通过改变重力，可以让玩家爱体验到失重，飞行，下落等神奇的体验。
